Air booster and Compressors

Reduce system pressure and save energy costs.

Compressed air boosters and pressure boosters are flexible units that can, for example, selectively increase the pressure of existing plant infrastructure. For example, machines or systems that require higher pressure can be used at decentralized points by using booster units. Many companies have a standard pressure of 6 bar in their infrastructure. However, this involves enormous costs, as a lot of energy is required to provide a constant system pressure of 6 bar.

The use of air boosters at decentralized endpoints within the infrastructure can help to reduce costs. For example, the infrastructure pressure can be reduced from 6 bar to 3 bar. A booster unit can be connected upstream of certain systems that require a higher pressure in order to provide the required pressure.

Compressed Air boosters: briefly explained

A pneumatic pressure intensifier consists of two pistons that are connected to each other. The starting pressure is on the inside, while additional pressure is added on the outside. This allows the air to escape to the atmosphere over the opposite side and the pressure in the inner chamber increases. At the end of the stroke, a shuttle valve switches to a new work cycle. Alternating filling creates air consumption in the pressure booster.

Applications of Air Boosters

Our compressed air booster stations are used where the existing compressed air supply is no longer sufficient, with an increased pressure requirement for special tools or units – such as air screwdrivers, nailers, tire inflation systems or similar. A PPM compressed air booster station can be integrated into the existing compressed air network at any point using commercially available hose couplings, or e.g. connected directly to a mobile compressor during assembly work. The pressure intensifier (booster) works pneumatically: it is driven exclusively by the available compressed air and compresses in a transmission ratio of 1:2. This makes it possible to selectively increase a classic compressed air network from e.g. 6 bar to 12 bar. The required size of a PPM compressed air booster station depends on the required delivery rate (volume flow).
